Who’s First in Your Life?
Pastor Ritch teaches through Acts 5:12–21.
In Acts 5:12–21, God is doing extraordinary things through the early church. People are being healed, delivered, and saved—but while many rejoice at what God is doing, the religious leaders respond with jealousy and opposition.
Their response exposes an important question for every Christian: Who’s first in your life?
Jealousy can make us resent something good simply because someone else received the success, recognition, influence, or opportunity we wanted. The religious leaders were so concerned with protecting their own position that they were willing to oppose the very work of God.
The apostles show us a radically different response. After being arrested for preaching Jesus, an angel opens the prison and God sends them right back to the temple to keep preaching. They obey—even though obedience could cost them everything. God doesn’t ask us to understand the plan before we obey the command. Obedience trusts God with the consequences.
